Monthly seasons and tiers in Standing: what starts again and what stays

01The short answer

In Standing, the only thing that starts again each month is the season table. Every season begins and ends at 00:00 UTC on the first day of a calendar month. When a season closes, its final order is kept in each player's season history. Your all-time score, your balance, your tier, everything you have bought and the players you follow are not touched.

02The season calendar

• A season starts and ends at 00:00 UTC on the first day of a month. The next season starts at the same moment, with no pause between them.
• The end date of a season that has started is never brought forward. In an emergency it may be extended by whole days, and the app says so.
• Points count for the season in which the server records them. In the last minutes of a season, a video may count for the next one, and the app says so.
• The first season after launch ends at the first month boundary at least 14 days after launch.

Because seasons follow the calendar, each one has a plain name: a month and a year.

03What starts again, and what stays

Season points are not a currency. They cannot be spent, and nothing you have paid for is lost when a season closes. Every point you have received stays in your all-time score and your balance.

04The first day of a season

At the start of a season, everyone who has joined stands at zero, in the order they finished the previous season. Your first points of the season put you above everyone who has not started yet.

A player who joins during a season starts with zero points, below everyone who joined before. From there the order is the same as always: points, then whoever reached the score earlier. How the Standing table is ranked explains ties in full.

05What happens at the end of a season

1. The season closes at 00:00 UTC on the 1st, and the next season opens at once.
2. Results are preliminary for a few days, as shown in the app, so that reviews and refunds can be completed.
3. Results become final and are kept in your season history, in the Seasons section under You.

A season result is kept only if you had season points and your account was not hidden for review when the results became final. If points are reversed after results are final, your season points are reduced. If the result can no longer be held, it is removed and the place stays empty; no other player's place changes.

06Tiers and marks

Your all-time score places you in one of five tiers, in this order: Graphite, Ink, Print, Seal and Engraving. The points needed for each tier are shown in the app.

• A tier never drops with time, seasons or inactivity. Only a reversal of points can lower it.
• A threshold you have already reached is never raised.
• Your tier sets how many mark slots you can use: one on Graphite, up to five on Engraving. The first slot is included; further slots open for balance and stay open.

Marks are small signs on your player panel and public card. Some are given only for a final season result in the world table: first place, the top ten, or the top 1%, 5% or 20% of players with season points. These cannot be bought. Collection marks are bought with balance; they are decoration and never stand for a result.
